I have a sword i just made in blender but the problem is i can't seem to find out how to texture it so if any knows blender well and knows how to apply textures please post a link to a tutorial or tell me how on here. thanks
ok well i found out how to uv unwrap but i don't understand what your saying about adding the texture but i'm going to look at the links you posted thanks for helping if you have an msn it will be easier to talk there incase i need help.
http://blenderartists.org/cms/index.php is probably a better place to ask Blender specific questions (however, they will yell at you if you dont read the manual first :poly132:). I dont think that there are a huge number of Blenderheads around these parts.
yeah those people kindof blew me off last time because they said if you need to ask questions don't post it which i thought was stupid isn't that the whole point of a forum to help people not tell them they are too stupid to try to do it.
They just want people to read the existing documentation and do a forum search before asking questions. When your starting out, the odds are that your question has already been asked and answered somewhere and taking a few minutes to look helps keep the clutter down to a manageable level.
You should split the window into two panels, one for 3d view, the other for uvmap/image
Have one window set on UVMap mode
in edit mode (2.36) or UV Select (2.35 and earlier), select ALL faces/verts/edges
Over in the UVmap panel, click the Image menu, and click Open
Select an image you want for your texture and click OPEN
BAM IT'S GOT A TEXTURE
but you will have to select the different faces if you want a different texture in some parts like the blade i would have to select all the different parts of it then put it on there then the handle which i don't mind but everything i found on google and such just sent me out of the way thanks leilei.
