Hey Guys I thought it would be fun and interesting to see what peoples top 50 favorite films are! I was inspired to post this after hanging out with some friends at the bar tonight talking about the very same thing. Mind you this is not a list of the best films of all time, so you shouldn’t feel bad if you don’t have the Godfather on your list! This list should be comprised of films that you absolutely fell in love with for one reason or another and couldn't do without. For instance I think Schindler's list is one of the best films ever made but I’ve only seen it a handful of times and will probably only do so throughout my adult life. On the flip side I have Transformers “the animated film” on my favorites list since I’ve seen it over 30 times and will probably see it another 30 throughout my adult life.

It’s not that I think Transformers the Animated film is better than Schindler's list but for various reasons I favor watching it over and over again! Of course if I were to make a top 50 greatest films list then Schindler's would be on it. Anyways you may think 50 is too big of a list but you’d be surprised how quickly it fills up, so make sure to put some thought into it and choose wisely! By the way I came up with my list based on the number of viewings, when I first saw the films, how these films make me feel to this day, and how many more times I’ll watch them with tiring of them! That being said enjoy and have fun with it!:)

Now on to my list:

1. Star Wars / my introduction into all of geekdom!
2. Aliens / James Carmon’s best film to date 20 years running!
3. Brave heart / An epic journey
4. Heat / You gotta love the shoot out scene, instant classic!
5. Terminator 2 / Arnold at his best
6. Transformers “the animated film” / pure magic, and that soundtrack rules!
7. Seven / I’ve seen it over 15 times and it’s still unnerving!
8. Legend / Instant classic, the Tangerine dream score is still the best version.
9. The Matrix / It started a hole new movement in live action films
10. Scarface / Bloody awesome
11. Gladiator / Ridley Scott’s second best effort to date
12. Indiana Jones "Raiders of the last ark" / best adventure film ever made.
13. Conan the barbarian / “See to the lamentation of the women”
14. Pulp Fiction / Tarantino at his best!
15. Lord of the rings return of the king
16. The Crow / A dark Greek tragedy
17. Akira / it’s hard to believe it was all animated by hand!
18. The Lion King / I still get goose bumps from the first 8 minutes.
19. Top Gun / "I feel the need the need for speed"
20. Robo Cop / How awesome is that suit after all these years.
21. The Sixth Sense / I still can’t believe the ending!
22. Under World Evolution / Best vampire/werewolf movie ever made
23. Batman Begins / The way batman should be done
24. Shaolin Master Killer / 36 chambers of joy!
25. Five Deadly Venoms / I wanted to learn the lizard style
26. The Usual Suspects / Gotta love the build up to the end.
27. The Rock / best Michael Bay film from start to finish.
28. Dawn of the Dead remake / yes it’s better than the original
29. Dark City / an overlooked classic
30. Do the Right Thing / never gets old
31. 300 / it made me join the gym, and yeah it kicks ass!
32. Anchorman / ^_^
33. The Big Lebowski / The definition of funny!
34. Die Hard / Yippie ki yay MF!
35. Leon The Professional / too cool, nuff said
36. Reservoir dogs
37. Fight Club
38. Star Wars Empire Strikes back
39. Total Recall
40. Evil dead / I still can't watch this alone
41. Macross Plus / Introduced me to Yoko Kanno
42. Blade 2 / kick ass
43. American Beauty
44. Back to the future / Pure fun for the whole family
45. LOTR the Two Towers / Helms deep, nuff said.
46. Silence of the Lambs
47. Predator / “if it bleeds we can kill it” RIP Stan!
48. The Killer / off the wall Hong Kong action at it’s best.
49. GoodFellas / the perfect film!
50. The Princess Bride / makes me feel like a kid again

I'll throw up one nobody has mentioned yet; Shark Skin Man and Peach Hip Girl.

The name alone should make you want to see it. Japanese movie, shot in a semi manga/comic book style, with some of the coolest characters you're likely to see in a movie.

Check out the into sequence here, which also rocks:

50 movies? A bit much for me! I'll list out a top 10-20. Some movies aren't in a highly accurate order, more like "top movies". Top 5 is accurate though.

    1. The Big Lebowski
    2. Pi
    3. The Fountain
    4. Bubba Ho Tep
    5. Made
    6. Swingers
    7. Crash
    8. Shaun of the Dead
    9. Poolhall Junkies
    10. Dark City
    11. Cube
    12. Stranger than Fiction
    13. I heart Huckabee's
    14. A Clockwork Orange
    15. Lord of the Rings trilogy

Also looking at the lists here I could easily fill in between spots with movies from their lists. The above are some that aren't on other peoples lists anyways.

i can only do one. Last week it was Raiders. But i've just changed my mind again, and its now the Four Musketeers again, cos they drink more wine and eat more roasted chickens than Indy ever did

next week it'll probably be the Haunting again cos, although they hardly have any fire-cooked feasts, it does have Clare Bloom in it playing a smug lesbian.

Oh, and then Jaws cos hooper flat out nicks Brody's dinner from under his nose

and then 40-odd other ones that are the polar opposite of Predator, the antithesis of all that is good on the planet.
