Despite it being the obvious choice, I'm seeing too many street buildings so I thought I'd go and make things complicated for myself.
I'm aiming to construct a fairly complex, gothic themed mausoleum, the idea is that it is large enough to be ancestral in nature.
Here's some potential reference:
Whether I'll finish this to the deadline or beyond remains to be seen but I'm fairly confident.
UPDATE: As I don't want to double-post, I thought I'd show that I have atleast started something quickly.
This modular piece will be positioned on each corner of the mausoleum, I'll be having a hooded Death figure standing in this space, gripping the pillars.
Here is the pattern I will be baking onto the larger blank section of the pedastal:

Unfortunately I lost a lot of time playing with Zbrush's transpose only to discover that it destroys the smoothing of the high-poly, I guess I'll just have to get the normalmap baked before I go posing the low-poly.
Used Arsh's base as a reference.
I should really get moving on to the quicker stuff
UPDATE: Pillar Hi-Poly WIP + Wall texture
great job on the texture!
and i like your idea too.
id love to see this baby done!
Time for the low+uv+texture and archway :]
It reminds me a little of the Apprentice Pillar at Roslyn:
UPDATE: High Poly + Low Poly for the arch is finished, time to get moving on to the texture...
Here is the texture work that followed, first 2 shots are of the roof texture I composed from that slate model. The last is the low-poly of the spike trim textured.
Still Soooooo much modelling left still to do
Still on the to-do list: foliage decals, windows, entrance, texture & lighting tweaks.
Here's to praying I can finish in time
might just be me though
otherwise, it's pretty damned awesome!
I like the blue lighting, just curious what your lighting set up is like? like what is your preference, infinite, spot, omni?
Just barely over 15k polys.
UPDATE: Forgot to include the rest. Wires & Textures below, just wanna point out (before you do )... Yes, the arches mesh could've been much better optimised as well as the use of UV space.
