So, I've decided to attempt "The Rain Theater" which is part of the Kunsthofpassage in Dresden, Germany. It's a little wacky I know but hey it's gonna be fun to do. I'm new to the modular approach in environments but I think there's plenty of scope for instanced geometry, tiling textures and reusable uv space. I fully expect you guys to kick my arse to get to grips with modularity, so lets get on with it hehe.
Really interesting design with the drainpipes, and making the modular pieces for your scene look to be pretty straightforward seeing there are only a few key elements.
Good luck.
Had a bit of time to do a quick 2d layout sketch. I'm usualy one of those people that likes to plan out everything first before doing the meat and potatoes, although in this instance it's plenty to get a start on I think. Question is should the texture sheet be done, then the modules/geometry, then the uv's scaled/rotated to fit the texture sheet or do the model, uv then texture?

Good luck.
