has idea about cyborg-like guy with metal head and reinforced jaw..
... after some time realised that i am already bored by this one and seems out of inspiration,
may be someone have ideas, what i can do atm?
Pick a strong opposing (to robots!) theme i.e. cowboy, chicago gangster, buccaneer, bar tender, shoe salesman... maybe not that but you get the idea I hope, and carry on from there.
I like where you're going with this. I usually don't respond to characters but this guy actually intrigues me. Don't stop because you think you have lost inspiration. Find a way to get the inspiration you had when you first started with this. Add a jet pack, arm guard with spikes.. I like what firestarted mentioned. Make this guy a Chicago gangster cyborg or something.. might be interesting. I dunno dude, but try watching some movies, like the Fifth Element or Transformers.
In the screenshot where you got the skin showing, I'd stay away from showing the stomach like that. Maybe bring his chest armor down where it connects to the top of his pants. To me, it looks like he has a shirt rolled up all girly style. Just what I noticed first glance. Unless you got a plan to do something different.
Either way, don't give up! Keep at it! Bring the guy into ZBrush and see what you come up with. I look forward to seeing your progress.
thanks a lot guys,
actualy, i dont like to watch movies, better to read good old sci-fi books, visual images borns directly into the mind and u just need to catch them, well thats hard to do while u have 1-year old pirate girl attacking you, whe u r trying to get some nirvana in photoshop, maya or zbrush
In that case, may I recommend a book that kinda took my imagination for a ride? It's sci-fi and it actually may fit perfectly with the guy you are building. Book is called, "The Last World War," by Dayton Ward. Its like $8 paperback, look it up on Amazon. Fast, easy, good read.
Its looking pretty cool. Best thing you can do is not stop working on him. If you don't know what to do in 3d then take him into photoshop and start concepting.
Personally I like Gobee's suggestion to add a gun and a backpack. A TF2/Pixar style looks like it would suit him well. Or you could combine that model style with realistic texturing for a fun different feel.
wow, what a reaction ))))
agreed about taking this guy into photoshop , maybe different aproach to this one will give me a spark
also good idea about defining profession and personality by adding props

Please do steampunk please do steampunk!
but yea it makes it way easier to develop interesting details as well as a relationship with your character if you take a little time to develop a persona and dare i say a little backstory in your head. also if you go through all the steps includeing concepting ( even if you cant draw well). you will find yourself getting into it, dont force the model or it will look like poo.
And so is Burger Time Ws that on Nintendo?, I know I've played it but don't remember it in arcade.
Back on topic, I think it's a great base. Maybe make him a time travelling robot.
In which case you'll need several versions, coyboy, gangster, etc...

i think you are full of inspiration honestly.
you just need to accept it:)
i can do a paintover with my own ideas if you want.
but if i am correct this is more a problem you have with trusting your own ideas.
which i see no reason for because this model thus far is excellent.. you just need to add more levels of work to it..

That just made my day. Pickle man with glasses.. just when I thought I'd seen it all.

haha true thing is like with anything there is good and bad steampunk. and the good stuff takes thinking through and a lil research.

I'd love to see him trying to look ultra badass but all the equipment like his helmet and vest don't fit him properly and are too small.
