So I've made this pipe in Maya and then import it to Mudbox. I subdivide it, but when I hit level 3, it starts to show all these edges. These edges show up even more as I move up in subdivisions. here's a pic
I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong, or maybe its my pipe model but I'm not sure what is causing this weirdness.... any suggestions?

Perhaps when you export from Maya, assuming you're using OBJ, use the options on "Export selected..." and turn "Smoothing groups" on under "File specific options" - if that doesn't work, try checking your settings under Mudbox's importing and smoothing sections. Your model looks okay as far as visible geometry goes.
