yer, i was doing 3d models since i just started at it, but yer, this is my first seriousish drawing, ... sry if picture doesnt show up i dont know exactly what to do

The proportion should look a lot more like this:



But you need, and you can't avoid that to draw human properly, to look at reference if you're lazy, or learn anatomy if you want to get serious.

Your colors are wrong too. Keep going though, achievements come with trials and errors.

Very jaundice, very blurry. You should try to work in solid brushes and block in color shapes.

thnx for the sites and feed back, im trying out reflective lighting on a basic shape style character i didnt design and it looking a lot better and 3derer, also ive learned to not draw on whit backgrounds cos it makes all the co lours i use very bright since my starting point was white, all those sites were extremely useful, and ur right about it being very yellowy looking (lol had to look up the heller fancy word you used), my bad, but i think im going to leave that as it is until i get a bit more tips from thoes sites

k here the basic shaped character, its like a 1950's style robot, i tryed to do what i briefly read (cos i'm also doing a lot of home work too)

Best thing you can do is to stay away from detailing imo, you'll learn more from doing 10 faces an hour then just 1. Look at the tutorials posted by vig (you already did I know), and just try to get the base colors, lighting and shaps right. If it doesnt look good in a "crude" sketchy state, refining it further usually wont help much.

Technically its coming along I see progress, but you should really hammer out a a pose before starting. One thing I like to do and I picked it up here a while ago, was to knock out 5-10 silhouette thumbnails. In that exercise you spend only a few min on each one and work with a solid black brush. it helps you get a sense of weight, pose, attitude and you can try out a few different ideas quickly.

This covers silhouettes and even goes a bit into technical but its principles are rock solid for painting and modeling.

thnx so much, yer cos im pretty good at seeing details, but i have the same noob problems like most people with no thoery background what so ever in drawing, like proportion and shape, and stuf like that, but that robot did have a pose down, it was just done by my gf quickly cos i had to do alot of homework today... and im trying to get ti all done rather than get it done good lol, but ill get practicing siouets and just lined out poses of drawings, but thnx again, ur like my free enternet art teacher
