Female Robot

robot%20boss.htmlrobot%20boss.htmlrobot%20boss.htmlI started off using a concept I made a few months back to use as reference which can be seen at

At last thanks to the free time I now have after finishing my course, I've finally finished the 3d version. I used Zbrush, Photoshop and 3DSMAX, along with Painter to the concept.

Feedback greatly appreciated

Congrats on getting it done, it looks pretty good. You've got some skill that will get better the more you practice.

    Crits:
    - The running pose isn't helping the femininity of the model.
    - The broad shoulders and thick biceps are more in line with a classic strong man then a dainty female.
    - The concept appears more feminine and I think a large part of that is the pose but also that certain shapes like the pelvis is angled and appears more rounded then straight across.
    - I wouldn't have know it was female unless I read the title and saw the pink.
    - I'm not sure the organic ZBrushing helps with hard surface modeling.
    - Texture sheets and flat shaded/wire view would also be helpful.

Looking forward to what you crank out next! Keep it coming!

Needs more juggs if you want it to be feminine.

narrow shoulders and curvy hips can sell it as a female with out "juggs". Plenty of gorgeious women have very small boobs, but they still come across as female.

well the wide waistline is kind of feminine...but yeah overall its still hard to tell if it wasn't in pink...
might want some more prominent curvy features to imply what it is...

The normal map bothers me it doesn't seem to help your model at all. The engraving on the knee and thighs just doesn't fit very well at all and it kind of looks low res. The shoulder cap also looks low res to me and like its been chewed up by something.

I agree with Vig and stimpack on the proportions.

    Hello,

Thanks for the feedback guys. Sorry to disappoint over the robot not looking as feminine as you would have hoped. I could always change the title, because I originally didn't intend for it to look so female like in the concept but it ended up that way.

I agree with regards to the bump map. I think what I'll do is create a normal map instead and clean up areas in photoshop. Its an aspect of game modelling I'm inexperienced in. Its all about self improvement and creating the to the best of your ability isn't it. I'll post a wireframe and some texture sheets once I've fixed the problems.

    Cheers

My biggest crit would be that I can't tell which is the back and which is the front despite the pose illustrated also the model does not come across as belonging to either sex... personally I feel that a fembot/hombot would be almost cyborgish looking whereas this model is purely robotic.
