yeah. i prefer listing by artist. but media player doesnt lists all the albuns by artist, instead they stack each album by artist on top of each other so you can only see one of each. like so:
foobar2k with the nowplaying sidebar gadget... that might not be the right name... i'm not at home to check. displays album thumbnail in the vista sidebar. foobar2k is odd at first but it's actually a pretty sweet program.
use vlc for video and no more worries for media ^^
i have the best musical taste ever.
but yeah. i kinda like media player. dont know why the pic in the first topic isnt showing. my site seems to be down. which is stupid cause i can login on the dreamhost webpanel.
regarding the number of gigs of my mp3 collection, i think 30gigs or something. not many. comparing with ppl that have ipods with 60gigs filled and whatnot..
anywho, can someone recomend some new tunes? i've been listening to hiphop lately, the oldschool one, like nas; biggie; roots; common.

i love foobar2000. they just released a new version (version 0.9.5.2) and it can do whatever you want it to do. you just have to either have some time to delve into how to code things in foobar (pretty damn easy once you figure it out) or now how to use google. heres how i have mine set up:
Mediaplayer, Winamp, iTunes, Foobar2k, they don't compare to Mediamonkey I've used all programs for at least a year each and Mediamonkey's been my favourite of the bunch. Instant collaboration with my ipod, drag & drop to and from my ipod, low system resources comparably, instant-tagging from the web so all your albums are tracked, titled, listed and have the proper artwork in about 5 seconds each, etc.
It's awesome.
Here's what I'm working to these days. It's all over the board in terms of genre of music:
Sweet, got an ipod? It's a metric shit-ton better for ipod users than iTunes is, IMO. Faster to add music to and from your desktop library from the ipod, or vice versa. Can quite literally CTRL-C iPod music selections in Mediamonkey and CTRL-V them to your desktop, it's that easy. If you purchase the software ($30 I believe) it'll automatically add new MP3's to your library when you save them in to your music folders. The free version you have to add them manually, which is standard for all media applications.
One neat feature of Mediamonkey is a complete tracklist dump. Here's everything I have @ home on my desktop, including Gails. (Dixie Chicks is hers, I swear!)

sectaurs: That should keep you busy for a while. Before you're through with the entire catalogue of records that gybe members were on, you'll be dead and buried. Only too bad there likely won't ever be another Gybe record
Also listening to Flight Of The Conchords, Liz Phair, Islands, Frightened Rabbit ,Girl Talk,Black Kids, Johnny Foreigner and anything else with a name strange enough to catch my attention

Not sure it can do the album thumbnail view.

Now the question is more how many gb's is your collection? I know there are some polycounters that put this collection to shame.
And how about making this a general "what are you listening to" thread?
