Here are a few quick Hi-Poly w.i.p. shots. The legs are basically done, too. The things that are left are the backpack, pelvic area, feet and hands. I really am not looking forward to making a low and baking normals, though. Have never done it before.
I love sketchbooks. Ive been a fan of yours for a while now, and you`ve gotten SO much better through the course of this thread. kudo`s / props n all that jazz :P
I like your mechs, they are constructed in such a way that makes sense! If I were you, I would reduce the saturation of the red in the background on the last piece. I think that it distracts from the actual object itself. I look forward to seeing more work!
Started on a lil' buddy for the mech. Some kind of observation drone / maintenance bot. Still real early, but this is the general direction I want to go.
This guy's about 2/3 the height of a man, where as the other mech is about 10' - 12' tall.
Ahhh, thanks for letting me know! I was going to ask whether it was Google SketchUp but then didn't want to look like an idiot in case it wasn't. Either way, keep up the good work!
Basically a little rolling brain with tractor wheels and hose-like arms. This guys pretty small, his chassis is about as big as one of those micro-computers, maybe a little bigger.
The ear looks kinda weird on your face model. I think it's because the top doesn't fold over enough and the inner part doesn't have the forking shape in it. (kind of hard to explain without a paint over or reference. I shall return once i have got to my own pc. very cool mech though. I would have never thought to start hard surface modelling in sketchup

I owe a HUGE debt of thanks to Polycount and its members for what I have learned here.

Wanted to make something that looked like if could possibly exist in a near future world. Something similar to the Asimo and ProMet robots.
