Let's talk about 'net neutrality'

It's been debated for a few years no. Will it happen, will it not? Truth? Malarkey?

I've just spent the last while watching this:

Personally, I see it happening. It seems like one of those inevitable things. Like commercializing radio, to television, and now our internet. What I am hoping for, is a sort of subnet community to rise out of this. Almost like Internet2 where the same ideals as what we have now are applied and capitalism is far & clear.

Unless it's decided by law that this is the way it's going, I don't see their tinfoil-hat future catching on. Big isp's might be planning a subscription model, but has everyone forgotten that some of todays biggest companies' main products are websites? Looking at that image in their video, google is in the second tier. Don't you think Google might want to set up their own isp? They've done a similar thing for mobile communications, where they bought up a part of the new spectrum and started a provider with a few other companies.

Google would have to make deals with the telco companies that are already in cahoots with the ISPs railroading net neutrality. The only option would be wireless broadband I guess.

ISPs hate torrent sites so they probably won't be part of any package.

As far as I've heard from net neutrality talks, the ISPs just want to throttle bandwidth the way they see fit, so they won't be blocking sites out-right like the video says

Comcast and AT&T are constantly attempting to pass bills through the US-senate to gain this control slowly. They want a small piece at a time until they have it all.
