Working on a concept for a daemon that I'm going to sculpt, model and texture as a practice after watching a dvd from eat3d.com.
I was going for some kind of "gatekeeper" demon that guards some kind of hi-tech looking artifact (which is a padlock) and has the key at the tip of his tail. I got a bit overboard with the "key" and I'm going to revise it.
I didn't really know what the artifact is suppose to do. I just thought it would look cool and also i'll get some hard-edge modelling in the practice as well.
Tried a new painting technique and it ended up with quite alot of polishing. Basically I only used a soft brush with a low flow setting. I was a bit worried that I would lose some depth but I think it's fine.
PS. It would be nice with some critique on the angels!
Made some adjustments and added some rad rim-lights from the wings. I still having some trouble with the angels but also that I spend too much time with this concept since I was going to sculpt this too.
Still trying out diffirent techniques for painting/drawing concepts.
This tine I wanted to create a somewhat interesting character in as little time as possible. My approach was starting of with just a blob/siluette and render on top of it.
The result was obviously crude but fast. The painting took about 30 min (which is quite slow compared to other guys here at pc ).
However, I liked this approach because it's fast but also because the sloppy and faint lines inside the blob which later turned out into some interesting shapes for the armor.
I.e quite good if you aren't sure of what or how you want to design something.
It kinda feels like hes standing on his tip toes or something tho, just the way the knees are bent with those kind of hooves shoe designs.. Idk, maybe not. I just love his top half tho.

I don't have any sketches available... I should get a scanner. So I'll only post some concepts instead.
Crayfish man that I also modelled and tried to import into UT3. Unfortunately the animations/rigging didn't work that well.
These are for a game im working on. Some heads for some enemies and a drill.
I need some practice on drawing women so I decided to draw some chick. Heavily inspired by the Heavy Metal comics.
Bleh. Really need a scanner... And an eraser!
I changed my mind about that girl and decided to do some lightning/mood practice instead.

(Still wip)
Keep it up, mate and post more often.

Tried another approach for the angels. I thought that I'll be able to make them more interesting if they were bigger.

Went back to the Heavy Metal-track again... TITS!
