the spirit is like a pre-batman comic and this is a frank miller update right? i remember seeing a Spirit cameo in the Batman animated series where he was Batman's childhood hero.

Trailer doesn't really give you much on what the film is actually about though, does it? Kinda seems a bit like a cash-in on Sin City's success with similar cinematography.
The cast seems pretty underwhelming to me... the only thing that really drew me to Sin City was the amazing cast: Michael Madsen, Benicio Del Toro, Bruce Willis (just to name a few). That movie was chock-full of awesome actors, which is really what helped make that film so good in my opinion.
