I agree (with neox) but i must say that we don't know how big this game is.
Also i don't think pior or 'the others' would be happy touching up texture after texture even if perfectly timed as one large chunk of work (and not revision, change, and revision etc.)
Now, i'm sure you can push the envelope with a bit of thought and a good pipeline but the main need in this is, I think, is still the artistic eye/aye! if you want things to look *really good* artistique, and there i think b1ll's quick note says something and the actual challenge becomes more that of keeping things consistent rather than eye bleeding candy , especially if large scale and in relation short time, let alone with a franchise like this various ideas for higher powers of what it should be and what the people want.
I think it's a very pragmatic approach and they are not compromising the overall look, most of the details (although filtered) seem well placed, parts are tiled etc. so some people must be doing something right
mais, je ne sais pais it doesn't blow me away, doesn't overly excite me, but again i don't think we know when it's going to be released ?
i think the characters looks great, although yes, i agree the main guy doesnt look at all like a persian (baby-blue eyes? wtf...) and even less like a prince.
hehe. Fliff's got a point. A "game" has to have mass appeal to be successful, especially one so expensive from Ubisoft. Working on a personal portfolio is one thing, but an artist's particular "style" doesn't always translate into the needs of any given game.
Remember Beyond Good and Evil? Great game with an excellent sense of style, however, it was a commercial flop.

He wouldn't look like a prince, because he's actually a thief.

The animation was meh at best and honestly that combo air twirl deal is crap.
