I want to delete the history of a head mesh in maya without losing the blend shapes.

the reason is I made a few tweaks with regards to the normal smoothing and want to collapse
these tweaks

I tried delete non deformer history , but it gives out error messages. Is there a work around for this

cheers

Another way to do it (if this happens again) is to select the object in the hypergraph and map the input and output connections. It will list all the history nodes and you can deal with them individually.
That is also a good way to deal with history that isn't removed by the delete history command, like some of the MJPoly Tools functions.

    cool cheers for that Pseudo.

I have had to learn maya in rather a hurry but have got to the point where I can do enough to suit my needs for now.

The problems were caused by extra weird nodes as a result of exporting morph targets from max to maya using fbx exporter.
