Hello, folks...
Had been using Max intensively up to past Feb, and switched to Maya for current Job requirement...
Now I am working on new portfolio piece, and try to get back to max, and a little glitch I faced.
First , spec goes like this...
(1) H/W - Core 3 Duo 6600 (2.4Ghz) / 4Gb RAM / GeForce 7950 GT OC / plenty of HDD space
(2) S/W - 3ds max 9 (no SP on it)
Currently I have a simple scene with two planes that were applied Jpegs (approx sizes are 200 Kb per plane), and they seem to cause "extremely sluggish" zooming by 'ctrl+alt+MMB.'
Other zoomings (mouse wheel & Viewport Nav contrl button on Right Bottom section) are working fine, but I am after solve this matter as I prefer to use 'ctrl+ alt+MMB.'
Went through Customize menu a couple times without any success...
Does anyone have clue on this matter?

I'll have this happen occasionally while I'm working in 3ds max and I've found that usually zoom extents will fix it.
Tried zoom extents without not much improvement, but found out I used 'super-scale' image planes (almost 800 % of its physical dimension... stupid me..)
With Scale-downed image planes, viewport nav seems flying now.
Thanks a lot~
