Well for eating and drinking here's a few to check out -
Elbow Room - Great for breakfast while you're here, it can be a really fun experience! I'd really recommend checking this out while your here. Everyone I've taken has loved it so far.
Stella's - Great for beer lovers, it's got a 3 page Belgian Beer menu.
Japadog - A pretty unique Hot dog stand, combines Japanese cuisine with tasty dogs. Definitely worth a taste
Memphis Blues - Lots of meat. Tasty barbecued meat.
Falconeddies - home made tasty sausage, generally on a bun.
That's all I can think of off hand. Let me know if you want some more and I can get some. One of the guys here at work knows pretty much anywhere worth eating or drinking at in Vancouver, so I can get some more from him. If any of those interest you just let me know and I'll get you directions. And feel free to contact me any time your here for directions or if you are wanting to hang out.
Also, you'll be here during the Vancouver International Game Summit. I doubt you'll want to pay for the full ticket (they're pricey, in the 400-600 dollar range), but you can probably get in to the after party if it's like last year. Should be a good time if you're interested.
Last year they were letting in anyone who had a business card or could prove they were industry, didn't seem to care one way or the other if you were actually registered for the thing. I assume it'll be open bar again, should be a good time. If you want to come to that let me know and I'll find out if you can get in without a pass again.
Aside from that I am going to check out Indiana Jones on Thursday with some guys from work . I think we're hitting the 7:00 show, so I can probably head out after that for drinks. Friday/Saturday work for me too. Whenever is is good for everyone else works for me really.
[edit] Speaking of VIGS, anyone else going? [/edit]
friday sounds good for drinks pc stylee, yeah tulkamir that sounds coool just give us a meeting point if you think its possible. and adam i might take you up on that offer...
Sounds good Shep. It'd probably be best if you give me a call sometime today because I don't think I'll be getting on a computer. My number is 778-558-5610.
Awesome. I might be down for this Friday. Where were you guys thinking? There's tons of places down by where you're staying, depends what everyone's in the mood for, I guess. Yaletown Brewery, The Pound, Blarney Stone.....Odyssey
Don't be such a downer Keg, turn that frown upside down and meet up at Stadium and we'll go from there.
If you guys figure out something for Friday, I'd be up for it.
Pete - I don't think meeting at Stadium would work. People will probably not all show up at the same time. Be best to meet at where ever we go.
Given that no one else has mentioned anywhere yet lets just go with SteamWorks and we can change it later if someone has a big problem with it. Steamworks is nice and close to a skytrain, so it should be easy for everyone to get to.
Steamworks is nice. I'll try and make it. Only issue I have is I don't want to deal with skytrain in surrey after 10pm. It's as bad as walking along east hastings at night. So I am looking into alternatives since I have no car at the moment.
Steamworks is right next to waterfront station so it's easy to find.

Again, cell phone's up for contact...
People are at the meetup now at the Transcontinental Steamworks.
It's the tinier steamworks across the street from the bigger Steamworks. See you fools there.
