Hey, is anyone here a member over there? Looks like it might be good for industry scuttlebutt. The company I'm at right now might not be around in 6 months, so I'm having a look around. The forum is game devs only, you have to be vetted, looks like I need a voucher from a member to get through the doors. Anyone here interested in helping me out?

you shouldnt need a voucher, with your veteran status. Just email them with company email address or so. Well I tried several years ago, when I discovered that luxinia was linked from in there, but didnt get into either to check what they wrote

good stuff happening over there, but it seems to have a primarily british focus. a lot of US stuffs too, but mainly UK. if you need someone to vouch for ya, hit me up.

yep, it's in large parts a british forum that happens to cover rest of world, too. there's stuff to look up regarding US companies as well tho. if you need the referral... but i suppose you are already covered.

but then you should not need one in the first place. i believe all it takes is a working industry email address. a referral might speed things up a bit perhaps.

i was told "game illuminati" is a more US-centric forum.

As far as I am aware you just need to send an e-mail from your work e-mail address saying a little about yourself: your occupation, company etc. and that should be that. At least it was when I applied but this was a few years back now.

Thanks guys, yeah I sent from the work email, put in the mobygames link, etc. Looks like they have quite a backlog of non-devs to sift through, so referrals probably help. I bet a few PMs to Prof. Shminky would help me out though, my user name is Eric Chadwick with the space (how original).

I really hope I can stay here though, it's a great place to work. The people are cool, the work is challenging, and there's a lot of variety. We'll see.

Heheh, no I meant "staying here" as in staying at my current workplace. Polycount will always have a place in my heart :poly128:. I've just heard TCE has some insider info, but of course you always have to take disgruntled employees with a big grain of salt.

Id say yes,ive gotten jobs off TCE and the about company x forum is good for getting anon insider info on potential places you would want to work in the future. Its also good for getting insiders/non artists perspectives about the industry.
