I realized that the rules for this forum say you're supposed to mention if you are open to people critiquing your work. I really don't care, so critique away.
the perspective is a bit wierd on this last one but the lighting and shadows are so nice and colourful.
Thanks Ged, I've been meaning to go back and fix some of these issues but haven't gotten around to it. Perspective is something I definitely need to work on though.
Here's something from a mickey mouse weekly over at another forum...
Guile's right foot seems thin, but it's the last thing to notice in that pose with the well handled colours. Interesting how you keep that thick feel with the colours, it's really engaging. That spare line work adds a lot of clarity too... great stuff
Trying to work more on developing my own concepts. These are two characters I was thinking about for another painting. I only meant to do some quick sketches to flesh them out, but I ended up spending a decent amount of time on them. So I thought I'd post them
Kawe> There wasn't anything fancy with this. Just a sketch to use as a guide. Then using the pen tool to lay in the shapes. Keeping layers organized/grouped and combining shapes of the same color helps me when doing stuff like this.
last painting is great, and I cant wait to see how this model turns out
do you have any special technique or method for picking out your color palettes? That's one of my favorite things about your pieces, you have a great eye for choosing vibrant colors that almost work too well with eachother
Thanks ferg, I don't have any special technique. Though, I often play with the curve editor/hsv stuff to adjust things as I'm working on them if I'm not happy with the color scheme.
haven't had much time to work on this, but I've mostly finished the high poly...

Something quick I did last night
felt like doing another E. Honda...
more perspective more foreshortening.
I agree qubism, that's something I need to work on. I want to try and work on some environment stuff so maybe I can push it more in those.

It's based a character sketch by super talented Tim McBurnie
