So I've been interested in this for a while but finally I treated myself to a day off and sat down with an R2-D2 Sheet from
here.
So far, its going great; I've discovered the pleasures of copydex (im one of those people who cant work PVA; it always fails.) and although hes a bit grotty and finger-printed, its MINE.
Anyone else indulge in a bit of paper-craftery? Any pics???
Also, does anyone know exactly how to make a 3D model in to a papercraft model sheet? I've a few assets I modelled for an illustration project that I'd like to make, physically, and have something tangible at an upcoming exhibition. Any help would be great!

I've always been interested in those papercraft figures, and I've got a few neat ones saved to my server at home, but have yet to really find the time to dedicate to making any of the sweet designs I've come across.

From here. Haven't tried it myself - but it looks awesome.

Funny how things go, I was planning to do some lowpoly 3d models with papercraft in mind. Not to build myself, but to send to family and friends as little gifts they would have to build themselves!
On a side note, this guy seems to be hardore into that stuff.

(pssst some polycounter models in there!)
I actually want to build that guy though. Thanks for the link, heaps of rad shit in there.

Yeah thats roughly what I plan to do; have some informal business cards (small, papercraft models of elements from my book) and some more formal ones. Hopefully I can find time to get it done though.
That aliens dude is proper hardcore. Very impressive

So sloppy but you know, hes my R2-D2.
make the stuff in max, pepakura it, build in cardboard, fiberglass etc.

and Shin's version of the model:
i've been meaning to do that subway car for a while!
thats cool
I started building the TF2 model Papercraft but I ran into a few snags, mostly with the quality of paper I was using, anyone have any suggestions as to what weight/type of paper I should use?
The other snag deals with the patterns themselves. I think I might have to grab the 3D models and modify them for papercraft, as well as upres the textures. But I'll wait until I get the first one finished.

This one is insane. They talk about how they made it here:

Made it as a bonus for the Starsiege:2845 alpha release a few years back.
