As much as GTA4 will get 10/10s everywhere, I just know that IGN review is nothing but pure BS. I dont even have to read it. IGN are pure PS3 fanboys, and some place, at some time, will try and sell you the PS3 version of the 360 version. I stopped reading there ages ago when every review was pretty much backwards and wrong. You could always taste how bitter the reviewer was when he had to review a multiplatform game that was miles better on 360, because even then he slammed it.

Not at all.

Its just IGN are one of the less trusted sites on the net when it comes to reviews. The site mostly boils its conclusions down to the reviewers tastes, which is bound to happen, but when you see they are all PS fanboys and most of them have a strong dislike for anything 360, it gets to be a little tedious. Plus some of the things they come out with are blatent lies.

I have to admit that I've always though GTA was overrated (except Vice City), but that video review really really made me want to play it. I'll wait to hear everyone's opinions first.

You know, I'm not even going to bother reading the review, because I know I'll get the game as soon as it comes out for PC. All a review can do is spoil things, tell me things I already know or just kiss ass, none of which I'm particularly fond of. Besides, I've never played a game that's worth 10/10. Nevertheless, congratulations to the guys at Rockstar, but I don't need anyone to tell me that I'd like to have GTAIV .

hmmm, it's seems to be a nice game, but it definitely doesn't deserve 10 points for graphics.
I know it looks good, concerning the wide city that has to be rendered, but that's their problem, other games which focus on small areas look much better..

Best part of the review vid - guy falling from crane and hitting the SUV. Damn that was cool. Great particle FX, physics and reactions.

edge, dunno. like reading the mag but they have some strange review scores sometimes - they seem to like being harsh just for the fuck of it at times.

anyway, i'll wait with this GTA-business until the hype's over. game-hyping turns me off big time. plus i do not have the PS3 to run it yet. game will surely be fun again until i hit the unbeatable mission they've managed to put into every GTA so far.

Only things I ever played GTA for were the hummers, jumps, and to see how many cops I could get to chase me in an area. Nothing else ever really jived with me. I've always thought the series had pretty poor subject matter. But then again, I'm more of a Zack and Wiki or Boom Blox guy.

Ok lets take a easy example, 2 people gets A+ in their essay test in English class, are you saying that those two people wrote essays that cannot be improved? or are they both exactly as good as one another? There is no way to make a photo realistic game on PS3 and 360 of this size but I think Rockstar did a most awesome job with the graphics. including animation and physics with amount of stuff going on at the screen at one time.

The rating is supposed to be in relation to whats on the market. So you can gauge which games are shit and which aren't. Not rating it as though its made with unlimited resources.

I stopped buying Games magazine when they gave Assassins Creed 4/10 and Halo 3 10/10, Edge for me is the more down to earth review, but thats not to say GTAIV won't get a 10. There have been too many awarded in recent times for games that really don't innovate, then again if they're the most fun to play...breaking new ground should get rewarded.

YES.

Of course my posts were to simply draw attention to the fact that scores are too important and it's the text that matters. Not in this case however because you may aswell be reading the Daily Sport if you read IGN.

EB closed down in my town :S so I wont get it until the next time I'm in central Wellington. EB is a must for teh trade ins!

Again it is amazing to make such a over hyped game and that it lives up to the hype and more. Congratz again all who worked on it!
