Ever wonder what Mario would look like if he was alive in real life... well I'm going to try and do it! first step the body. I'm using this base mesh for something else that's why I textured the whole thing. I made the model shorter (like Mario is) in Maya but this is the general idea.

Otherwise, this is a great job! I still see Bob Hoskin's face when I think of a live-action Mario, though...
Agreed on the monkey wrench, BTW.

I like your direction on such a classic character.
i think a better background would be a basement with rusty pipes and moody lighting.
needs a tool box with a mushroom sticker on the side.
and the goombas!!:
Either post highres images or leave the lowres ones at their original size, making giant pixelated images accomplishes nothing.
but cool
Maybe the pixelization is style choice of the old 8 bit era?
It would make more sense to me that Mario would have as wrench rather than a hammer, but... Looking neat!
That's MC Hammer's horrible 1991 cartoon.
Mario had a load of sugar in him and he jumped alot that's why he used to be called jump man
but that look really good...and weird...
i love the shots....it feels like redneck rampage graphics
High res makes stuff too clean.
puruse my site my demo reel is right on the homepage with mario as the first project:

It might make sense that a plumber would wield a wrench in combat, but MARIO has always rocked the hammer:
Anyhoo, this is looking neat, very dark take. Me likes. What's the importance of the original genitalia, though?
how did you like the VanArts program ?
only crit is it looks like his right arm is broken in the middle of his forearm, between the glove and the sleeve
thanks for the mario crits you guys. The genitalia were just a joke. I had to send a render to my brother... so i sent him the gouche.
