I did honestly think people would know this one. Its shown on TV in Australia semi-regularly.

Its called Tom Thumb in English, Le Petit Poucet in French. Its a great film - a dark, gothic mash up of various fairytales with some great cinematography, sets and costumes. You should hire it out if you can find it at your local video store.

Is that the Tom Thumb by the Bolex Brothers? I remember seeing a trailer for it on one of my Manga Video films years ago. It looked very imaginative.

btw, i watched ladyhawk recently and was definitely a time period movie I can't recall the soundtrack being so annoying back in the day. It totally ruined the movie looking at it with todays music
