Polycount Dominance War 3 poster ideas

This is where we'll construct our poster for Polycounts army in Dominance War III.

Here's are some notes about the posters & the images needed:

• The deadline for your image to be submitted is April 16th, 2008
• The posters won't be begin to be made until after May 16th, once all of the images are in.
• Your character must be on a transparent or solid color background.
• Please keep effects and strange lighting to a minimum.
• Light source should come from top right.
• 3000x3000 is a good resolution to submit
• Try and keep the pose as natural to your characters behaviour as possible

If you have any questions regarding the images needed for the poster feel free to ask them here and I'll do my best to have them answered.

Additionally, if you're unsure about the pose of your character you can post it here as well and we can see what everyone things. Once you're happy with the pose, submit the image here.

Suggestions for the design are very encouraged!

May the poster strike fear in the eyes of our enemies!!!

Damn, awesome. Is there going to be a print version of this around for download? I may not be able to contribute, but I'd love to have a poster around of all the awesome work everyone here did.

Yeah, doing something like this is a great idea, but it sounds like a horrible brainfuck to whoever is gonna take care of putting all the characters together! Especially for the forums that had hundreds of participants.

i would say everyone who wants to be part of the 3D-poster shows a smal pic of the pose here (or maybe some variations), so we can prevent "brainfucks" quite early

Might make one more relaxed so ya'll can choose...

Can imagine it will look strange when you have to put the entrys on the poster which are as tall as Mountains
... might have to fade them into virtual distance a bit ...

@rollin: do we want a posing poster (something relaxed just representing) or an offensive one (entrys about to jump out at ya) ?!

i have no idear.. as rooster says i think most people (my self included) will use poses from the final shots.. so we have to look what we can do with them

if someone has more poses to offer, we can than try to use the most fitting ones

so i don´t think we can limit the poster to some special "motion-theme"
and the thing with size is realy.. difficult..

and yes.. without any base, this would make it even more complicated

You have to have your images in to Fred (I posted the link to do this above) by the 16th.

Try and keep the poses as natural to your character as possible.

i want n°2 even if you can´t see a lot of the character.. but it´s the stance which shows most of his character

and i can stand somewhere on the side

i think 3 would look odd in a group shot, probably best to keep to a standing type pose like 1 or 2 (great posing in all of them btw)

than go to the wallpaper link and submit your stuff and than you get an ok
if not there is a red "warning: only finalists blablabla" displayed

Got mine uploaded....(probably lol). Had a bit of trouble with the file size to print res, but otherwise ...well...there ya go....dominance war truly done and over.

It only said May 16th for maybe an hour or 2. The title of the announcement was also changed to show that theres a new date.

If you read the links for each list - or even my post with the list - I give Fred's email for you to contact if you were late.
