Im working on a Map for an UT3 Mod called UT2D. Its basically oldschool jump'n'run mixed with UT3. Feels like home for my mutated Jazz.
Its a pretty big DeathMatch Map with a lot of vertical gameplay.
I learned Kismet in the process so there is a lot kismet scripting in this map. I made 2 traps that can be activated very easily, the bots activate them too!
The lights setup is very simple, not really started on that yet. The gameplay, bots paths and pickups are in place but i will also do some more slightly changes to that.
Dont try to play this map as TeamDeatchmatch or Capture the flag because teammates tend to make group hugs!
...and the game can also crash. But the mod is also in Beta stage so i hope that gets fixed soon.

Having a personal copy of the Unreal 3 Engine would be quiet expensive!
The Editor comes with the game, so you can mod for UT3

That you can scroll with the crosshair over the screen? That would be bad for playing with a gamepad!
Btw the mod will be also released for the PS3.

Yeah the view is nice, seeing my chars in this mod is very cool.

There are also other cool maps, like a super mario map.
Tried out the map, I liked it. I dont know if you want crits on the art or the layout, so I'll go layout. I noticed that the action flows back to the center part quite well, but theres always someone (bots) camped out at the link gun after the lifts. This made it harder to approach from the left (from the two lifts) Though maybe thats intentional and its my own ineptness at Unreal (I suck hard.)
Liked the little bonus type area at the bottom of the gravity type tunnel thing (far left) which had rocket launchers and a hidden transporter to (I think it was the flak cannon?)
Overall yeah it was cool, just got a little annoyed with the link gun campers who had the high ground.
The bots are not very intelligent at this map, i have to tweak the bot paths some more, when the camp they are usually stuck. I think the linkgun is quite overpowered in 2d, none of the weapons are tweaked yet (the flak needs to be tweaked badly i always kill myself with it. )
The Bots are also better in 2D, they see you much earlier and they aim very good and fast, so its not only that you suck! Look out for bots activating the gravity when you are on the left in the bonus area, you may get thrown in the dead zone, i have to tweak that trap a lot more so its more efficient.
