I just wanted to say hello and introduce myself real quick. My name is Brandon and I have been doing product and archi modeling for about 5 years now, using 3Ds Max and Cinema 4D. I have recently made a conscious decision to try and become an environment modeler for games. I do realize this is probably a lot easier said than done, but I am very determined to break into the gaming industry.
So that's about it. Just wanted to say hi and hoping I can get some help with my quest(so to speak) from you guys.
Also If you would like to see the kind of work I have been doing, you can see it at

So when's the next kegger?! :poly128:
So instead of starting a new thread. I thought I would ask some really basic and noob questions. Forgive my ignorance.
1. Does everything still have to be triangles when doing game modeling. if yes. How do you guys go about it. do you poly model normally and then convert to triangles or do you start out using triangles?
OK so one question in two parts. Thanks for any help

I poly model then triangulate when I export to xnormal or whatever engine requires it. I havent seen too many people making game art in c4d but Ive made a few things in it but I mostly use max for game art, what do you plan on using?
Last Question, are there environmental tuts around if not, thats fine I'll just ask a butt load of questions, but I googled it and didn't find much
