Expect some more game art pimpage soon, more time for tf2 psp props (yes probably going to do them all). And I landed myself some casual game art gig, so no excuses for pimpless days.

He is? How cool is that, has he got anything online?

The briefing for this project was to create a small public building, an exhibition place. It's located on a ring in the middle of the river which is a dump for river wastage.

    Like that...
A major point when building this was it had to be sustainable, as it also has no access to water/power/sewage grid.

My concept in reaction to the contaminated loam in the ring is to show how you can make a building of that if you don't let it contaminate. The steelskeleton structure holds walls of loam which are protected from rain by little "overstekken" (parts sticking out). Those are part of a "waterslinger" (waterslide, doesn't sound as snappy as in dutch hehe). Rain that falls on the climate cap roof falls down to the sides and gets through a zigzag tube running through both the facade and the inner that allows it particles to sink down. Those tubes overflow onto the silvery basins just below the glass cap, there it flow down in a zigzag motion through helofyte filters with intermittent aireating places. This is semi-clean water that gets stored in a glass container to the front for further treatage or use as toiletwater.

The big glass cap serves another purpose of making for a semi-outside/inside climate, a buffer so to speak. It actually encompasses all these small loggia's and provides a semi-warm climate. It's also used for ventilation purposes, with large openings on the main wind direction.

The very bi-directional orientation and expression is because of the contrast on both sides of the dike, wastage on one, nature reserver on the other.
