I was watching gnomon tutorial and this guy has some pretty neat shortcut on the left side of his interface. The on with colors, materials, 100% 50% 25% render buttons and etc. Are those shortcuts available from max itself? How do I place them there?

Those look custom to me, either a script he wrote or found.

It kind of bothers me when people use a customized UI in video tutorials. If they are going to do tutorials their UI should be reset to default unless they are going to use some of the custom bits, then they should be explained. While its kind of nice to see little snipets of peoples workflow and maybe gleam some useful tip/tool I think it creates more confusion then it should.

Tim Jones used to work at Blur, you might find those tools in one of their free script packs. Or they might be on the DVD itself.

its part of my toolbox as well. the 'copy/paste' between scenes functionality is something i pretty much use x times every day. so much better than merging imho.

ah that is it, thank you Romi.

I agree Vig there are actually tons other stuff he was using in the tutorial at super fast speed that aren't readily available in max. He did mention what scripts those are, but I can't even find half of them to download :/ I don't see the scripts anywhere on the DVD, I guess they're not included.
