Saw this on Digg tonight and thought it was a fantastic read, especially as a fan of the game. It's something I never noticed, but the next time I play through it I reckon I will.
Wow, great read. I never noticed the appearance of the machinery when I played through. It did always strike me as unusual and stood out but I never really stopped to analyze it. (Nor did I play through with the commentary on.)
Very cool to see GlaDOS that way. I didn't notice it before.
Both articles are a great read. Critical analysis of a video game villain. This is still, and for a long time will be, the greatest game ever. Now I need to beat it a few more times. The song is appealing again, but not as uplifting. I sensed the lyrics were awkward, and this may explain why.

Also great is the article delving deeper into the meaning of the Still Alive song. http://www.game-ism.com/?p=94
The game is such a tight, interesting and complex piece of work behind a simplistic package.
And Still Alive is great fun on Rock Band too.

I don't agree with his analysis of the lyrics though.
Indeed. It is a fun song to play.
I can't see those either. It makes me sad and my eyes hurt. :poly105:
