Hey guys, it's about time I finally have another thread up here for my w.i.p. stuff, and I could definitely use some tips and suggestions. Been meaning to get some stuff up here!
It's based off this concept my friend found on the Warhammer Online website.
I'm still in the process of determining how detailed I want to make it in terms of polys - I think I'm going to head towards the mid/high end and do a low version as well. The bricks were the first thing I did if you can't tell, and I plan on redoing them (way too high poly for something that's not very detailed). Also not happy with the proportions of the stone windows so I plan on changing that.
A long ways to go yet but I wanted to get this out there

and yeah, a lot of it can be done with just texturing, which is exactly why I plan on doing a lower poly version as well.
Keep it up.
I mainly worked on cutting down the poly's on all the stones since they were way too high as you can tell by the previous pictures, unfortunately with this shot you can't really tell XD. also did some little pieces like in the ramp and the top middle boards holding up the rope thing.
Same goes for the diamond-pattern grids on the higher windows, those should be texture detail too.
however, I want a high poly version as well with everything modeled in. Then I will be going back and making a game res version.
next update after this should be fairly big since I'm going to work on it all weekend.
tomorrow I'm hoping to finish up the high poly and start the low poly (possibly finish it as well), we'll see.
Thanks guys.
here's another update, I'm getting close to finishing the hp. for some reason I couldn't open my latest file... it crashed whenever I tried to open it! the iteration before it works fine..:( I had to rename it to make it work. Anyone have that problem before?
thanks!
Nice points of interest here and there...
Saidin: it's just a MR Spotlight and a skylight.
Vig: Thanks!
pliang: I'm planning on getting more uniqueness before I call it done, still many places to touch up, but my overall goal is to match the concept as close as possible.
Thanks guys!
