POLL - How does your console sit?

Poll for those of you with any of the more recent consoles to have come out that can be staged both horizontally and vertically.

I don't think I can do multiple polls in one thread, so just put in if you have the majority of any/all of your consoles vertical or horizontal. This only applies to PS2, PS3, Wii and 360.

I only have the 360 and mine's horizontal. I used to have it vertical before I bought my new tv. Basically the stand for that will only allow it to sit horizontally...I've heard people recommend not to have the 360 vertical, but I never really noticed a difference or anything.

But im caught between a rock because half of my friends own a PS3 or XBOX360. Which to buy next hmm..

PS3 & 360 horizontal. I'd like vertical, but my current entertainment center doesn't allow for it.

Wii and 360, both horizontal.

I'm told the 360 has less heat problems and disc-destroying dispositions when horizontal, and the Wii's just plain quieter... mine seems to buzz more when it's in it's wee stand. Means it fits snugly under the monitor it's hooked up to, too

PS3, 360, Wii are horizontal, I didn't want to risk scratched games being vertical

my 360 is horizontal on top of the box it came in to keep it up off the floor.

I actually had my original Xbox vertical for a while, which a lot of people found surprising. Worked fine that way, though.

I had my 360 vertical but then it had disc read errors and finally died on me, the replacement one is sitting horizontal but I still get disc errors on Mass Effect

some little shit working the counter tried to blame my second xbox's failure on me, slyly asking if I perhaps kept it in the upright position? Or perhaps it was on an uneven surface that constantly rocked back and forth?

i assumed these are both bad things to do and will cause failures

Yeah. With the 360 having the dvd drive fed via tray, I'd want to keep that horizontal. Now with the Wii & PS3 being slot fed, I can see where those would be ok as they'd probably have a better mechanism for keeping the disc mounted properly.

I kept my 360 vertical.. then it red ringed, now I keep its replacement horizontal. Less stress on the poorly designed heatsink clips that way.

My xbox at home is laying down, but my dev kit at work stands up.
