JUNIOR ANIMATOR - Cambridge, UK
Jagex Ltd, developer and publisher of online games, seeks a highly creative, enthusiastic and energetic Animator to join our Graphics team. This role will be to support the Graphics team in the animation of game assets for FunOrb, our new online gaming Arcade. The successful candidate will have experience animating 2D and 3D based assets using a variety of software.
Key duties include:
- Assisting the FunOrb graphics team in animating 3D models and 2D sprites for FunOrb game assets;
- Modelling, texturing, rigging, animation, lighting and rendering of game assets;
- Following direction, briefs and concept design / development processes;
- Communicating with our dedicated development team ensuring that everyones requirements are considered during the creation process;
- Contributing ideas in a graphical nature but also regarding working practices and procedures.
Requirements:
- A particular interest and skill in Animation, essential!
- Good understanding of fundamental principles on Animation;
- A good fundamental knowledge of and ability in 3D, including modelling, animation, texturing, lighting, rendering, in any software;
- Ability to work with maximum size/complexity limitations, and create great looking low-polygon count models;
- Good basic knowledge of Paintshop or Photoshop;
- Ability to be able to pick up new tools quickly;
- Great communication skills;
- A team player;
- Motivated and passionate;
- Creative and imaginative;
- Communication, Art and Design or equivalent degree.
Also useful:
- Experience creating 2D pixel artwork is a bonus
