Can we get a control for the specular highlight spread?
A slider would be fine for me, but I'm sure some people would like a map input, too.
At present, there's no auto-recover. You can save & restore settings, but you have to do it manually. I'll try to hook that up for a future build, though!
Of course, it bothers that you're seeing crashes at all. Do you experience crashing when CrazyBump runs by itself? Or only when it runs alongside other 3D apps? (For the purpose of this question, photoshop CS3 counts as a 3D app.)
Would you mind sending me a dxdiag report from your computer? I am hopeful that I might figure out what's causing the problem.
I usually have these apps open. Max 9 , PS CS2, and Silo.
If I have to step away for a break and my power management kicks in shutting down displays I get it more frequently but it has occurred while working on a texture as well. It hasn't happened when CB is focused and being used though.
To get a report, just type "dxdiag" at the run prompt, and save a text file. The report just tells me what your driver versions are, because sometimes crashing can turn out to be related to a particular driver.
Any plans of adding the "Load a ___ Texture" to Displacement and Occlusion?
I love the preview window and find when I go back to paste in my old textures that it produces a different occlusion and displacement, so I'd love to be able to paste in my older ones or custom ones to see what'll do.
Thanks!

@Murdoc- Thanks for the suggestion! I will keep it in mind for a future version!
@Bobo & Jesse- Thanks!
@IronHawk- Please give the new beta 8.91 a spin. I'm hopeful that it might fix the crashes you've been seeing: www.crazybump.com/beta/upgrade.html
If beta 8.91 crashes on you, please let me know!
However, if when this happens, and Photoshop doesn't see it, I can hit Open on CrazyBump and it'll paste just fine.
I've only noticed this while working with very large maps (2048's right now)
Good idea, thanks!
@Lee3dee:
I have evolved beyond the need for "sleep."
@Tumerboy:
Try alt-tabbing in and out of Photoshop when that happens. Photoshop's clipboard is kinda buggy. It often fails to sync with the system clipboard. Alt-tabbing prompts PS to re-sync its clipboard.
P.S. Stop releasing new versions all the time! Everytime I just want to make a normal map, CrazyBump yells at me to download something new!
