Any Way to Import DMX File Type to 3DS Max?

After looking around on google and these forums, I cannot find the answer to this. I'm currently trying to import the high resolution TF2 models into 3D Studio Max. The problem is that they are in the file format .dmx. I don't know of any importers for this file type, and I'm hoping someone here knows how I could get this file type into 3DS Max, or of a way to convert it to a more common file type. Thanks.

Edit: Found a way to pass that, was able to just add .smd to the end and import it to Milkshape 3d.

Created by vsdmxio, which only available publicly as a Maya plugin (sourcesdk/maya/2009/plug-ins/valveSource/). Some editing options are available with the Source 2009 SDK tool dmxedit however, including export to OBJ (unweighted, no animations).
