I'm also up for that class that is doing this as an assignment for that class... with that guy... and that thing. word. . I meant to post this earlier, but I used painter and... ya know.
quick sketches. I need to incorporate the power and the artifact more now. Shoot it.
the colors in the last image are really faded. can anyone tell me why "save to web and devices" does this and if there's a way around it?
Warlord here. I think I'll work on this a little more... i'm trying to give him an apron, it will probably look less like a loin cloth with full color. He's gonna be some sort of butcher abomination, wielding a cleaver of who knows what power right now (i'll figure that out within the next hour and probably post. He wears the skull of his "native" enemy (because freaks can have those, too), the Cyclops, as his breast plate.
Again - colors are faded and if anyone can tell me why saving for web does that i'd hug you.
i'm figuring top middle, looks the most like a cleaver. I suppose I should leave this more simple- the more complicated it looks the more it looks like an axe. Cleavers are pretty wicked looking in themselves.
Christina... if only i knew how to do lense flair in painter. if only...
I find this a bit reminiscent of the old Mancubus from Doom, i.e. the massive fat but muscled character. You've got a cool idea running here, so I'd recommend that you spend some time thinking about who your character is, how he kills people, his favorite meal etc. These considerations may sound a little silly and mundane (and many of them end up as such), but sometimes this type of consideration can lead to a more meaningful concept that has some depth. Little things can end up as major determining factors for a concept.

When you save for web, check and make sure you're using the maximum number of colors. Try saving as a GIF with all 256 colors. That might help.
