Surreal Software Inc. (a subsidiary of Midway) is looking for the best talent in the business to work on exciting, AAA budget, character-based action games for Xbox 360 and PS3 consoles.
We are looking for a creative and motivated professional who has the following essential skills and has at least 5 to 8 years experience in animation to join us as a Senior Character Animator.
A Senior Character Animator is responsible for the implementation of in-game character animation. Working under the direction of the Lead Animator, the Senior Character animator will be involved in designing, testing, tuning and setup of in-game character animation systems and will work closely with the programming team to actively find creative solutions to technical limitations.
REQUIREMENTS
Technically proficient in 3D animation, skeletal setup and character rigging using Maya and Motion Builder.
Strong understanding of classic animation principles and fundamentals (squash and stretch, staging, timing, anticipation, exaggeration).
Self motivated and eager to learn.
Able to contribute positively and effectively in a team environment.
Interest in and knowledge of video games.
High school diploma or GED required.
Experience in motion capture clean up.
Strong hand key experience.
Industry experience in Game Development.
Storyboard visualization experience.
Experience in post production (directing linear/non linear edit suits).
Film or Video script and direction terminology.
AA/BFA preferred, or at least demonstrates through portfolio an industry standard level of art.
Minimum of at least one shipped title, preferably on a next generation platform.
All candidates must deliver a full resume with samples to be considered for this position.
