so im looking to a new wacom

I want a mid size one I have one of those iddy bitty ones..I think its about time for a upgrade, I want to get a good size one that gives me more control and stability than the one I have right now...so what do you guys recommend?

6x8 is good. That's what I use at home. I prefer the 9x12, but I can't afford one of those right now. 6x8 is a nice midsize tablet though.

Splurge, go for the 9 x 12. Yeah, it's $400, but once you start using it everyday, you'll see it's worth it. I almost neglect drawing in a sketchbook since I got mine. Much easier to just draw in photoshop. Plus, you don't want to develop wacom envy later if you get a small one again.

I like the 6x8 better than I like the 9x12. It fits better on my lap. However, if stability is what you care about, and you like drawing large on big pads of paper, then maybe the 9x12 is for you.

Or try and buy that xernon and tell us what you think.

Wacom is pretty much the only brand of tablet, so you won't really be doing much comparing.

I have an Intuos3 9x12 I was thinking of putting on eBay. No box and I'm not sure where the spare nibs are, but otherwise it's just about brand new

well a tablet in general I dont care if its wacom or not, I have a wacom graphire series before which is a like dummy version of a good one, I dont mind a 3rd party brand as long as there good

so suggestions?

No 3rd party tablets are any good. Even the graphire is better than any of those. Wacom or bust.

Intuos3 6x8 is all you'll never for many years.

I find my 9x12s at home and at work too big for what I do (mostly coloring work, I don't even use it for pixel work) I should've gotten x 6x8. Also there's widescreen versions out now too... so match the aspect ratio on your monitor best you can for more comfort.

I'm gonna see about snagging an intuos2 off of ebay. Either 6x8, or 9x12. I'm not a fan of the side button/sliders on the int3. :P

Got my 12x18 off ebay, too. Saved a bundle.

seforin, that's good, now go away and make some art. You don't need a tablet to do that, you ordered one of those anatomy thingies with a detachable dick, so grab a pen and some paper and doodle. I don't know you, but from what I've seen you seem to be focusing too much on the tools, and not enough on personal improvement.

So get creative, even if it's out of doughnuts stacked in a cool way. We're watching you!
