hi all,

i had heard that polycount rocks, and seeing the amazing work in here proves it to be true. despite all the fetuses, i'm honored to join the team! wink.gif

here's a sketch dump from the past week. i'm definitely leaning towards D, but all opinions are welcome. my main concern with it right now is what class it fits best in. (no hunter class frown.gif )any and all feedback and criticism is very much appreciated.

    You've got some funny/unique concepts here. I dig Barbarian Sheep (A5) for silliness alone, but Spiky Merman (D*) is my fav. Of course, Tusk Birdassword (a2) and Fuzz Skeleton (b2) are nothing to scoff at.

    thanks for the comments, guys. B2 is up there for me as well. the primary reason i did not pursue it is for a lack of potential detail. i feel that the strength of the character is in its simplicity ( i wouldn't want to load it up with armor), and that bones and fur just wouldn't be enough in the end.

    any other opinions on which is strongest and why, especially with B2 vs. D?

    For me, B was the one that jumped out at me to start with but that probably has something to do with breasts.. Either way I really like it and just by looking at the concept I can imagine her wrapping up enemies on the battle field with the vines then letting her plant creatures take care of the rest.

    That being said I've seen other people do 3D models like your concept and it didn't really work because all the nice Vines (her right arm) weren't smooth because there weren't enough polies to go around. If you know what I mean.. So looked a bit tacky and unrealistic.

    But I love D as well. love the pose, He looks like his sneaking around so I'd go Stalker for sure. I like D over B2. B2 looks like you'd tap him with a stick and he would fall apart tongue.gif

    yes, that is exactly what i realized about her after i had poured way too much time into the concept! i was so excited about the character in general that i wanted to make her look good, but even while drawing i think i knew that the vines would make rigging and animation virtually impossible.

    and yeah, yer right about B2, that's true that he is too flimsy. he's too much a rank and file baddie and not boss caliber. i suppose that is a trickiness with stalkers in general, though.
