DWIII - 2D - Steakhouse - Tribal Summoner

Ok, the guys here at work convinced me to give this a shot so here goes. The initial doodle for my idea was this little bug here:
It started as just a, 'it would be cool if the hoodie was a face/mouth and the person inside looked out" sort of idea for a stalker. However as I've toyed with it I've gotten more and more excited about working in some tribal designs into the fabric of the clothes and maybe crossing the design with a gypsy look, sort of taking a Hyung Tae Kim approach of combining two very different clothing styles.
Because of those changes in direction I'm now going for something that's a cross between top of the line ski wear, gypsy clothes, and street wear. The character will "summon" the tribal designs of her clothes and use them as either weapons or minions.
To try and get the look I'm aiming for I've collected some reference:
