DWIII - 3D - Randommonkies - Sacrifice

My Idea is an Air/Lightening invoker.
I'm calling him Sacrifice for now. The idea behind him is that he comes from an isolated species of goat/wolf like people who believe using magic is blasphemy but worship an ancient magical relic left behind from some previous race. One day the character i am making sees a human invoker create an artifact to help him in combat. Realizing that magic is not reserved for the gods, he begins to secretly unravel the secrets of his peoples idol. after a great deal of time he discovers that the idol is in fact a super powerful magical weapon that harnesses the power of the atmosphere to rain destruction down on massive areas. He eventually tells his people his secret and tries to convince him that they can use the weapon to help them live without fear of invaders forever. His tribe accuses him of heresy against the gods however and chains him to the idol as a sacrifice. As the Shaman perform their rituals he tries one last time to convince his people they are wrong, but they refuse to listen. Right before they kill him, he panics and calls upon the magical powers of the relic. The device destroys all his people and collapses but parts of it fuse to the main character, leaving him disfigured but extremely powerful.
So ya, thats the background story and some concept drawings I'm working on. The polycount logo is probably going to be engraved into some of the pieces of the idol that are fused with my character.
... and don't worry, the heart isn't going to stay there lol.

here is some more colouring. I need opinions for the colour on the brown poofy cloth under his shoulder armor. i'm not really sure if i should leave it brown or not. I think I'd like to add some more colour if i can.

hmm, the only thing im gonna say thus far is the upper arms need some lookin at. everything else fits, but you got this wierd ball and spool thing, like you are building over an armature.
other than that he is a lot of fun

Some Front images i drew up. More for building in maya than the concept, though i think i've pretty much finalized the design, changing the shoudlers around a little etc.

Some of the similarities were a bit disturbing but overall I still feel pretty comfortable with it.
I think once i really push the magical lightening aspect of my character it'll be different enough.
If anyone thinks it looks too similar let me know before I get too far in to change anything in time.
pretty much done with concept stuff. I've begun work on the mesh so i'll put up some pics in a while.
Almost done all the basic symmetrical stuff. Moving on to shoulderpads now.

One thing I just noticed, I am not sure what is going on with the edge flow on the back of his knees. They might be fine, but if you pose him keep the edges in that area like a flexible straw to flex properly (if they aren't already).

luckily the knees probably wont have to move to get the pose i want.
I'll still try to clean that up a little though, just in case i change my idea of the pose down the road.
Just been cleaning the model mostly for Zbrush. Pushed the side profile some more and added everything but the chains.Just put it in Zbrush and smoothed it, havn't done anything to it yet. Nothing too exciting, just confirming that I'm still alive lol.

done zbrush and almost done reducing back to 9k. Hoping to finish lol.
I'm pretty sure my eyes are bleeding..
I managed to cram out the textures in the last 2 days.
have to finish it by tommorow morning since I have work on friday and saturday.
Gonna take it as far as i can in that time.
must finish..
