hmm im thinking you should expand on 5, make those feathers into some sorta raven feathered mantle, deck him out with some wacked out bird fetishes or somthing (eg bird skulls and crows feet hanging from armor)
its easily the most different of all your current concepts but that being said they are all pretty much the same thing

dont get me wrong i think the concept looks good but i think you should try some different design approaches before settling down on your idea, in the end you may go back to that 1st design but you know you would have exhausted all options 1st
I did some other thumbnails..this one was the winner on basic shape. Just playing around with silhouette further. Ill post the preliminary thumbnails tomorrow.
I'm really diggin number 3. The waist area on 1,2,3, and 8 is better than the other two variations for sure. The smaller head in the cowl on number 3 makes him look bigger and more mysterious as well I like the rounded shoulder over the more angular ones.
Also, is it just me or are number 1 and 2 the same?
I dig it man. I like 5 as well, the fur shoulder element is a nice contrast to the hard shapes in the armor. Might want it draping over the front of the pauldrons though.
Vigil is correct. lol damn does it come off that much? lol since everyone is screaming feather/fur its going in. Ill drape it over as well ty for the tip. Ill have my construction shot up probably Sat or Sunday with face closeups.
i like 6 personally. For some reason the skinny arms seem to pop more in this contrasting the other large elements in the armor and such. Reminds me of Andarial from Diablo II without the wings. Nice work, keep it coming
hrm..yea lots of people use horse skulls on stuff...but i like horse skulls.I might push it more demon skull in the model. Arthas's armor has just regular skulls on it, I'm going more spirit faces. He does have a big shoulder pad however. I do have Warhammerish proportions.
He looks cool, but I think he's got too many faces in his armor. What could be a cool focal point if it was used sparingly seems more like filler when it's used everywhere.
So I was thinking..that this piece on his back that up until now has had no function should...Tell me what you think but i think I'm going to lose the staff and make his back rack the artifact
I was thinking its like a soul catcher or soul battery. He rips your soul out and stores it in this piece that he then draws upon to cast cataclysmic spells..
so in accordance with that. I will be taking some advice in not overusing the detail on his armor. the big left shoulder and the right gauntlet will now have the undead deco.Feathers under the pads to offset the ripped cloth. I took a lot of detail out of the waist area. still WIP. I think I'm going to make his unarmored arm emaciated and more fleshy and less "covered wraith"
thanks..those i knew would be the two hardest pieces so i knocked em out first.. i have the back rack done..i need to post that up soon as i get the cloth on there.
the only thing I could see becoming a problem is the very light geo on that shoulder pad where you got the faces. You might need to subdivide a bit more there, to get a nicer silhouette on that face-pattern - otherwise I don't know if it's going to look right...
Its looking very good though, you're on the final lap as far as modeling goes man! good luck.

Race..Undead/human alien.. not sure which way im going to take it yet. Think I might go Undead Alien! oh snap!
class Invoker
Power Void/Darkness
Artifact, Staff...still thinking about some back story and powers for the artifact.

What are you thinking for artifact and class?
Keep up the good work!

liked him better with just the hood. fun proportions, though!
armor is lookin amazing and that gaunt haunted face is a good step away from the arthas look, and im loving the mantle over the shoulders
looking forward to see what you do with the staff
It's way cool, but there has to be a way to change up the details a bit.
It looks great, top notch!
Awesome work, though.
think I agree with sinister though, you lose impact if you use a theme too much

that is a very true statement!!!!!!!!! balance in design is not an easy task!

Oh...and I deduced your employer from the style and your loc. I know JM is running the show there and your style looks right up that alley.
