She's blind, but she has a magical musical instrument that plays music, to which she dances to fight. The result is a combination between a ballet and a slaughterhouse
.
The main weapon is a Guisarme-Voulge, and she has sharp things on her costume that swirl all around when she's dancing... for as much as that helps against armoured robots. I guess that makes her class Warlord, since she doesn't use magic. Not sure what a magical instrument would fall under. Either air, because it's doing stuff with sound waves and all, or holy. I think Holy/Light fits better, but it really doesn't matter.
The pose is shamelessly ripped from Wikipedia's article on Dance

Some more ideas here, but they're mostly exploring the same thing. To be honest, there are very few elements about the design that actually bother me. No glowy bits, the artifact is not a weapon and symmetrical arms (because everybody has one mutated arm, it seems).
Mostly just experimenting with big and puffy arms or legs, but that hides all femininity. The lower figure on the second page is what I'm imagining her to look like at the moment.

For some reason, music jumps out at me from your concept. As if she is supposed to be some sort of bard. Since she is blind, perhaps her senses of hearing are heightened and she is somewhat of a siren? And her artifact is an ancient instrument to lure machines, then destroys then with a high frequency wave she emits from her voice? Dunno just some random ideas
Great stuff so far, keep it up!
Those are actually some neat ideas... But it's just a personal preference of mine to keep her 100% regular human. It's easy to defeat a bunch of robots if you're a thousand-year old demon with magic gauntlets, but it's a lot more interesting to think of how (well-trained) humans fare. Granted, with her current fighting style, she'd probably only dent robots, but it'd look absolutely sweet
Anyway, I was struggling to decide whether I'd go with the gypsy/street performer look or the gala dress look, until a friend mentioned the Venetian carnival, which seemed like a perfect combination. Now to design the actual colour distribution, and details, like a haircut and jewellery.
And a start on the mesh. Needs loads of tweaking still. High poly modeling without ZBrush or MudBox will be interesting...

Walk carefully and pray that all the sharp things will hit the ankle bracelets instead of her? I think potential for self-mutilation is a must for any DomWar character, and since she doesn't have any pointy teeth or spiked shoulder pads...
Ok, so I'm working on the low poly now and I notice that long hair reference isn't exactly abundant... it's surprising how few games have women with long hair.
looks good so far!
nice weapon!
I originally wanted to paint attacking robots and a background on the beauty shots, but couldn't find the time.
I love the idea of the character dancing through her fight. Well done
congrats man
