i dig the face and the glaive of the third turtle, think that's the most bad-ass looking one. maybe try on some more armor ideas for the shoulders, non of them really knock me out, although i think the first set looks the most intimidating.. i think a rock turtle makes the most sense from a likeness-of-texture standpoint, but then again that may be a reason to avoid it.
One of the concepts I'm working with right now is turtle-esque aswell, perhaps they could be the same species, remnants of a proud civilization now fighting proudly under the banner of Polycount?
I shall watch with much interest. Turtles kick ass.
I also prefer your second one.. but right now, the weapon looks more broken than powerful
keep it up!
by the way, Thx for the comment I was waiting for your entry..

Try branching out a bit from the basic 'turtle' look. Play with incorporating different animals and other shapes that will move him out of "anthropomorphic animal" territory into one more of a distinct species all his own.
