so I had my first guy before and he sucked.... did a few thumbnails and picked the one i like... still need to work on his element weapon.... needs to be larger i think? let me know what you think and any feed back would be great! thanks.
thanks... yeah im going to add metal like wings to his back for more character... his sword splits by gears as you can see... but going to make twice and large for it to be a two hander..... still trying to figure out helmet! bargh
OK so this is now the one i will be sticking with! His magic weapon is a ice battle ax. after waisting much time on the other concepts because I realized that hey! this is all taking place in the future. So yeah... other concepts where to old school magic style. Let me know what you think! Hey check out movie im working on and company i work for www.viacaedo.com
Wow making some fast progress. I think its wise how you generated sketches of various pieces of your character to help get a better idea of what they will look like in 3D space. The model looks like its beginning to look slick. Keep us posted! Nice work.
Here is the face with a little zbrush 3.1 action going on. I have some more work to do, but its 4a.m in the morning and im going to get some sleep. Let me know what you think. thanks!
getting some colore now with him... also i fixed his neck, as you can see above it doesn't look right.... thats because no humans neck looks like that naturally that is.
hmm the eye make up is looking a little KISS atm, I would try some variations to get something that looks really intimidating (in fact gene simmons' eye makeup was more intimidating )
so I have broke down my options down to these three choices... (not using 4). Let me know what you think. Im leaning towards 3 personally unless anyone can give me a reason not to. I also gave him a thicker neck and did a few other things to him to make him look meaner. look forward to hearing what yall think! thanks!
I like 2 also, but not really the teardrop side the other part.
It also seemed to me that above the lip it could use a bit more volume, something seemed a little off to me from the side ortho.
yeah I agree with Soccerman. 2 Looks cool, but a tear drop? Come on, how Gangsta is a soldier gonna be?
I was going to say 1 outright, but a combo of 1 and 2 would be better!
That's a beautiful sculpt by the way. Do you have a portfolio site where I can drool over more beautiful models?
Thanks, no I need to get a site up to show off my work... as for a portfolio, Im in no rush because me and my dad have our own company that we are bringing up. www.viacaedo.com We shoot movies right now but we have more plans later on down the road for other things.
I still have to work on my baking in Maya. So if anyone has any tips on some great settings for something like this, that would help. Until then I will be looking online for info. As well as the head I think it could look better. I am keeping the actual shape of the armor, I will be adding a lot of detail in it as I go in zbrush though. The concept you see from the start is just all flat armor for the most part.
You need to keep an eye on your proportions. With the head, the distance between the nose and the upper lip seems a little long and with the leg, the knee seems to fall way too far down the leg.
