Hmm, Kinda screwed up my thread by trying to be clever with organizing updates. Anwyays, here's a fugly sketch...
Lord Greentooth (Warlord)
He's the last great war-tortoise, born before the other dom wars. The polycount logo was once his old clan symbol, during the ancient tortoise wars.
His artifact is a magical staff, that makes a war cry that summons a massive reptilian army.
I'm open to any and all crits or suggestions. If anyone has better idea's, my ears are wide open.
Thanks dudes

want a suggestion.. draw some idears with the lower part / legs, but without all the stuff on his back.. atm his lacking a bit of some sort of eye-catcher but the armor is realy cool!! i would develop that
looks awesome bro. enjoying the deep storyline he has beneath him. really think you're onto something with the oddness of it all. certainly fucked out enough to keep from being generic. love to see you rock up some other quick views and suss him out further
* 'til rollin sneaked in
Im glad you didnt just go with a generic warrior dude heh. Look forward to seeing some more updates
Feeling really demotivated with this dude right now. Might be moving on a poorly thought out concept. Crits, comments and suggestions would be helpful. Not sure if I should send this dude to the graveyard or not.
i love how this turns out.. if you´r not happy with the concept, try to invent some new species basen on you`r mudbox-base
(smal crit.. he has huuuuge .. realy huge arm-muscles.. but for what? his small fingers would brake under his owne strength, at least it looks like
Bah, not feeling this. Only a couple hours sculpting so far if that, just mocking stuff up, but I feel its lacking conceptually.
I really wanted to make something top shelf this year, this isn't really what I imagined. It seems my ability to come up with something that I can get passionate about is lacking.
so if you don´t like it (or feel it).. think about something else, maybe do what everyone else is doing.. some thumbs
btw.. if you don´t continue this awesome piece.. _I_ will hate you
Im not sure how I feel about your piece as a whole right now. Im kinda seeing a ninja turtle atm, and those legs arent weird enough to go along with the rest of your weird character. I dont dislike what you've made, and its certainly technically good, but I just find it really weird.
You have some badass sculpting skills man i cant wait to see more progress on this.
I just thought I would post in the desperate and illogical hope that someone will tell me how to make it amazing in a few short sentences lol. I'm not fishing for complements or anything by shitting all over it, I'm just very critical of my work and don't look at it with rose tinted glasses.
I'll give it some more thought tonight, see if I can come up with an alternative, but the deadline means I'm gonna have to make a choice and stick with it or bow out.
Thanks for the suggestion LampRabbit, I agree it needs asymmetry. I probably wont work much from that concept now, this is one of the only times I've drawn out a concept before modeling and it didnt work out too well. But it still has elements worth exploring though they need to be redesigned etc.
Thanks Clint, best of luck with your entry
I wont mind if you dont like it. Took me all of 4 minutes.
@ Jackablade: Yea good call man, I never intended a resemblance, but I love the Krogans. thanks
nice sculpt btw I like that big turtle god thing
The paintovers are cool too and could take the creature in some cool directions - definately a cool start even if you don;t like it too much!
I think your design will be helped by a change in leg size/position. Eva make them short/stubby and wide or long thin and skinny. I personally think making his legs wide/having a lower COG would make sense since he has to carry that giant shell and upper body.
He could also maybe be more hunched over/Ape like? standing straight up seems a little weird to me, again due to the size of his shell
What about t-rex leggies?
