Couple ideas I came up with last night.
Descriptions:
1. A flesh golem (think Frankenstein) with a heart made of a corrupted holy artifact that was meant as an artificial heart. The main attributes would be revitalizing dead tissue and allowing random pieces to be quickly attached as needed in battle. I am thinking possibly a chainsaw for the right arm, but am uncertain if that would be allowed cause I can't think of a way something like that would be powered by a dark element. Thinking of going really messed up with this one. There will be a loin cloth. Also the head shape is due to there being a simple heavy metal helmet to protect the head.
2. Originally a arm brace that created a defensive/offensive shield around the user. Being place on the snake gave the snake a humanoid body made out of darkness that would probably be all smokey and such. Dunno how I would work that, but if I could I think I'd like the look.
Don't know how well I will be able to build a proper concept. Since having muscular dystrophy somewhat screws with drawing I have issues for drawing for more than 10 minutes without severe cramping/pain in my arm and shoulders.
Comments/Crits are quite welcome. It's been awhile since I have done some 3d art so I am trying to break off the years of rust.

Decided to go a different route of sorts. Finished version will be more scaled, more of a crustacean look. Planning on this creature floating inside a humanoid body made of water.
Thoughts? Paintovers?
I like your ideas. Maybe makin him looks smarter (brain bug-ish) would help his persona a little.
I plan on drawing him within his water based biped. But unlike most people here I have muscular dystrophy (wiki fshd if you're curious) that affects my arms. As such drawing tends to be a massive pain for me to do.
Dur: unsure how to make him smarter. the brain bug idea I just can't see fitting.
Kary: I sorta want to keep the guy more innocent looking. I want him to be evil but possibly semi cute to possibly distract the enemy.
I'm debating whether to go human-sized or possibly on the scale of massively towering over the battlefield.
Thoughts, suggestions ideas on what I can do to boost the design further.
I don't think my arm can handle much more drawing at this point and time so it'll be onto roughing out the shapes this weekend. Crit's and suggestions are quite welcome.
For the color scheme thinking a similar color scheme for my guy to this: http://www.engr.umd.edu/media/pressreleases/images/full-size_blue-crab.jpg except probably switch the green and blue areas around so it's more green with a bit of blue. I'll try to do a paint over this evening.
