Nice thumbs....loose and gestural, interesting, cool and diverse shapes. Gets the point across but at the same time doesn't "commit" to anything and keeps lots of design opportunities open. #5, #12, and #23 seem like they have a lot of potential.
How about a combination of the arms from 6 and the wings from 24? As if the guy in the middle can't quite gather the power for the full form and just manages to evoke the upper torso of the creature he is channeling.
I gotta go with MoP on this one. 9 is awsome with the tenticle whip thing. 22 also has some really unique shapes to it and it stands out. Id also like to add 23 to my favorites. Im not sure whats goin on with the arms but whatever it is i like it and id like to see it in a little greater detail.
Damn I'm progressing pretty slow. I thought I'd have more time and energy for this but I'll go as far as I can.
Here's some larger concepts I've been doing during lunch.
im diggin #6 off ur new post. like spirit arms or something, i think that one's got some potential to be really unique, although i think you may have to rely more on special effects presentation than the actual characteristics of the um.. character. anyway, good stuff. looking forward to seeing which direction you wanna progress with.
Maybe try doing something that's not a biped...for a chance of pace...maybe you'll be more inspired.
23 is kinda interesting, 24 could be really cool but could possibly be a little cliche and I do like the whip thing in 9...but it's hard to really pick one without it being developed a little more.
Good luck, hope something clicks and you get inspired.
Hey Mvelasquez, I think the heads feel to nice to me as they have a cow eye ( big and dark and sweet ) not sure if you are going for something in that direction, or if not then the lower right head is my favorite out of the ones shown. Though the ears feel like they are tacked on like a mr potato head kinda thing. I can see a skull plate thing going on that might be cool, oh and in your latest concepts I like #6. Will check back later to see where your at, and I am sure it will be sweet.
out of all those heads i dig the first one a lot. I think it's the one with the most personality - the rest seem to follow the same pattern until the last one; so the first one stands out to me. good stuff!
Yah Spark I agree about the huge ear. I plan for a bat-like ear but I couldn't have a ref in front of me at the time. I'll do some clean up if I choose to go with it.
Gauss: Thanks, yah its a blur to me too :P
I'll draw more tonight and scan it tomorrow at work.
Neox: Great ref man thanks! That bone structure is what im looking for.
Brad: Sup Brad! yah I'll continue on with this head.
Eclipse: thanks
rollin: thanks
I've been really stressing about what to do about the body. None of the thumbs really clicked with me. So i decided to write about it a bit. I ended up at a fishlike species stalker with a giant parasite on his right arm. I plan on the parasite being used as a weapon using it's whiplike tongue and mandibles. Heres what i have so far.
I plan on playing up his fishyness by adding scaley natural armor and maybe some fins on his back and arms. I guess the parasite could look more alive too. Crits on this guy is very encouraged.
I've got a base mesh going too:
All quads baby
...damn i just found one.
It looks cool right now, and I was trying to imagine for myself what kind of body you could create for that head just the other day.
First thing that stands out to me so far with the body is that right now he doesn't seem terribly aquadic. It doesn't look like he could swim in the water well in his present form. Mabey add something so that he would really get around fast in the water (fins, more webbed parts, or a tail).
Second, I think the parasite should look a bit more alive. I'm not sure exactly how to do this either, but possibly having eyes or teeth on it would do the trick.
Again, I am liking where you are going with this one and I can't wait to see what you come up with next.
