Just something to start with, will keep making a few thumbs but I'm liking nr.6,16,25. I have this idea with nr6 with an artifact merged into his tail and it have started to cover him with stone/wood and also he have started to learn how to make these stuff grow whereever he likes on his body at a fast rate.

Ah so you guys seem to like same as me, well I'm going to try and develop those meanwhile here are some more thumbs not to fond of them, maybe 32 and 36 have some potential.

There's a whole bunch in the first set that really rocked my jocks. The second set I feel is a tad weaker though. There's something about 26 that I really like.

Worked a bit on #26, testing with spinks idea with heads.
Maybe not evil enought though. I was thinking of an old woman at first, might try that also.

Did a quickie with #25 not so happy about it, any comments about it are welcome. Maybe I should try a diffrent way with it or try another one?

I'ts obvious to me that you will get it right in time, you just haven't hit the money yet.
Alot of your designs are strong, i think if you keep at it the final desig will come.
The head/torso of 40 is great too btw.

Personally I like the direction you were heading with #25, although I got the impression from the original thumb that his limbs were skinnier and more tapered. I also liked the curvy shape of the spine in the original.

Magma girl is cool too.

Made a few updates on magmagirl, the artifact is sealed in her medallion that's wraped around her chest with chains (she don't want to loose her precious artifact) also wanted some metal armor on her, mostly for decoration but it's also possible for her to block smaller weapons with them. Have a lot of clothing layers in ther, a bit hard to see but they'r there. It's leaning towards this one, just need to figure out the details.

Soo.. I did want to explore a bit more and worked a bit on #40 . I'm thinking air element, so he have speed and can travel fast and suprise his enemies with a unexpected attack.

allrighty, keep spamming stuff here =P The fairy is out as someone pointed out on irc he's just here to give away lollipops. So new and updated more now with less candy and more killing. Still need to work out, legs,arms,weapon and wings...

Diggin the moth wings on that one, but perhaps stylize them a bit more, make them look crafted and culturally significant. That way they appear more decorative rather than questionably functional

So made a new pair of legs, kinda hard to understand from the picture, but basicly he have "modified" his feet so they can fit into small container into the boots (wich are basicly weapons with sharp blades on). I'm liking this one, although suggestions are always welcome

Thanks guys, I'm still torn between last character and the magma girl, so worked a bit more on her. Just some cleanup also tested some diffrent faces.


1. lava coming through from underneath the skin, 2. veins of lava, 3. ?, 4. Runes pained on. I also want to have som ash on her skin.

Yeah i like the number 2 face. Really cool, i can totally see this one coming out close to the concept. Glowmap or something on it ;D it will look NEAT-O! I think the lavafaces coming out of the body is a little bit distracting though, maybe fewer or smaller ones would look even better? From my opinion that is

@karera: I havend decided wich face I want to go with yet, I'll but yeah nr2 is nice, but I also like the idea on nr1 but with less magma and more face. And for the lava faces, I was thinking of having them pretty blended into the lava so they won't be distracting.

Need to find a proper name for "magmagirl" aswell. But meanwhile I started with the head and try to get the shapes I like. Started to try out some shapes for the lavaghosts.

Some updates, started on new lava heads, as some pointed out on irc it didnt look like they came from the necklace so modified them a bit. Still need much more work but thought I might get some help and suggestions from here Also need to add the actual artifact in the necklace, probably going to be some stone glowing with lava.

Been away this weekend but finally I could work some on the model today. (still need to learn how to do proper folds, but I'm sure I can fix it).

I'm sorry polycount but I might have to abandon the DW3 wars! =( I have so much other stuff to do atm with school and projects so I'll probably won't have time for DW, it's a shame because I really love the competition, and I did learn alot from last year war.

All hope hope is not gone though, I'll try to do as much as possible uptil the deadline.

I'll keep a watch on you other guys anyway, there's alot of super good entries from polycount and I've no doubt that we will be standing alone at the finnishline =D
