Max 2008: Disappearing verts

Heyo, I figure this is the best place to ask.

I'm getting a problem in Max'08 where verts are displayed when a file is initially loaded but the second i move the camera they disappear.

I'm using a GeForce8800 GTA, DirectX9.0 and have updated my display drivers hoping that'd solve it.

Any ideas? Reaaaaally starting to throw me off here.

Does it do it if you switch to OpenGL or Software mode? That might help narrow it down a tiny bit...

Shit, OpenGL is fine. Certainly can't work in that with this scene though (~5fps).

unchecking "use cached D3DXMeshes" in viewports/configure driver fixed some display issues for me with d3d.

As a side note, is there some new feature with colour coded verts?

Some verts (When they show) are bright blue and bright red, while some are burgundy and dark blue.
