3D Environment Artist
Mid-Senior Level
Threewave Software is seeking experienced Environment Artists to create compelling environments for our newest exciting PC and Console titles. Threewave Software believes in supporting team effort and is looking for team players who are bright, love a challenge and are highly motivated.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
To design, model, texture and light 3D environments for next-gen games.
Committed independent worker who is self-sufficient in his/her artistic, technical and production skills.
Creation of art assets and concepts of consistent high quality.
Work closely with the Art Director on design and development of the visual aspects of the game.
To be accountable for art production and design development of game areas, making creative decisions to maintain consistent style.
Share knowledge and skill sets with team members as they will return the favor.
Prove proactive in problem solving with other team members.
To motivate others and maintain a positive professional attitude.
To work with the team and Art Director to ensure all milestones are met on time.
SKILLS:
Thorough knowledge and efficiency using 3D modeling and animation packages, including but not limited to 3D Studio Max or Maya.
An eye for light, shade, color and detail in creating texture maps.
Exceptional ability to design and produce any type of game art asset, including building and texturing organic and inorganic environment models.
Proven personal expertise in traditional art skills.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to multi-task under pressure.
Some understanding of traditional art.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
BFA from an accredited art or design institution, equivalent diploma and/or equivalent work experience.
Background in 3D Animation/Concept/Graphic/and or Architecture design.
At least 1 year previous experience in an Environment Art related position in the game industry.
Keen interest in playing games and the future of the gaming industry.
BENEFICIAL BUT NOT REQUIRED:
Experience in cross-platform development.
Familiarity with modern texture creation including diffuse, specular and bump maps.
Traditional art, drawing, design studies and conceptual illustration.
Hard core gamer; extreme understanding of games from a players point of view.

Examples of various spectacular effects such as explosions
Examples of natural effects such as smoke, fire and water
